Traditional cultivation

Our saffron comes from the Khorasan region in northeastern Persia, the world’s leading growing area for saffron. The special climatic conditions and the mineral-rich loam soil create ideal conditions for the development of the valuable aromas and ingredients.

Hand-picked harvest

The saffron harvest is done exclusively by hand, according to traditional methods. Before sunrise, the purple crocus flowers are carefully picked, and the precious red saffron threads are individually removed. About 150,000 to 250,000 flowers are required for one kilogram of dried saffron – a labor-intensive process that both determines and highlights the price and the exceptional quality of the saffron.
